How we re-envisioned the aviation training industry

Airways Aviation in the Middle East is the leading provider of Airline Transport Pilot License Programs (ATPL). They have combined the best of traditional and 21st-century training techniques to create a fully integrated course allowing pilots to start their training at home, and take their qualifying tests in Europe. Their training models were developed from extensive industry expertise and reinforced by real-world circumstances.

Project Overview

The airline industry has been training in the same way for the last 100 years. The founders of Airways Aviation knew that there had to be a better way, and partnered with TIN to forge that path. We had a blank canvas to start with an initially were tasked with creating a website that was simple to understand, yet provided enough detail to engage a potential client. The site had to be extremely fast and responsive in order to achieve a greater than 90% GT Metrix Score.

Execution

Over the course of three months, our team worked together with the owners of Aviation Academy to deliver a highly interactive front-end with and equally powerful back-end that allowed the organization to train, communicate, and certify pilots.
Currently, students can check in using a mobile app, which triggers beacons, which in turn automatically records the amount of time that the student spending in the classroom, in the air, and on the tarmac.

Results

AA went from having no students to having a full course regiment of 30 full-time students. It is in the process of working with TIN to automate even more of its process as it is now on an acquisition trail to acquire more Flight Training Organizations as it expands to Turkey, the UAE, and the USA.

Currently, or 35% of the course curriculum has been converted to an online interactive format, the plan to convert another 35% over the course of the next six months.
